I'm not a proponent of being the "safety police", and really enjoy the playfulness of the new look OD, but sometimes serious matters have a place(IMO). I just ran across this story and thought it may be of interest, and comment

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — A Maury County woman has been charged with reckless homicide for what her attorney says was the accidental asphyxiation of her husband after he consented to be bound and gagged..

['m well aware of the high visibility, the variety of sexual orientation, and the "if it bleeds, it reads" nature of these type of articles. I thought the comments attached to the article were interesting, as your views may be. The article, itself, is very limited in details.

That's a tough situation. I think it's an issue where the law and personal ethics collide. I think it's tough to blame the guy but at the same time I can't see putting all the blame on the woman. There's an inherent risk when you participate in such activities and I think, similar to getting surgery, you can't really blame the woman for his death. Although I know, explain that to his family, right?

Speaking of family, I just clicked on one of the story's links, which brought up a number of alleged family member's comments:http:http://www.topix.net/forum/source/wtvf/TRH23B6AQT4S9JA0G

Not to check for 20 hours seems to surpass at least the Safe portion of Safe, Sane, and Consensual.

I absolutly agree Jazzman, we're a community there should always be a place for the serious side aswell as completely random topics about pizza toppings. Hmmmm i might start a pizza topic actually...
Anyway where was i?? yeah thats right, i hope noone would ever stop themselves from posting about anything here.

As for the story itself, 20hours does seem a long time. But hey if we all did everything the same where would be the fun. No-one except the couple involved will ever know for SURE if him being left for 20 years is a regular thing.
Reckless Homicide? or Death by Mis-adventure? I guess its a thin line.

its always a very thin line when the public is involved

and when i read that she left him alone for 20 (!) hours then she actually is guilty of not caring for him.
everybody knows how important it is to be able to take care of a sub in bondage if something happens nobody planned for
so when she left for 20 hours she should have been aware of what she is doing and so she is responsible for it and has to face the trial for it.
