i have been a member here for some time now & i know there are some great people here. i try to post from time to time but not regularly like some. Besides my job allows me to visit in bunches rather than consistently.
i am looking for some advice about electric play. i know that it can be dangerous but i also know that it can be so much fun. And right now i do not have a domme to play with but i am very fixated on this type of play right now so i am looking for some advice. How can i incorporate this into my CBT play by myself with regular household items. i find it more enjoyable to create the toys i use rather than going out & buying them from fetish shops on the net. i know there are some creative people on here & if some of you have some experiences or ideas that will help me keep playing in a safe & sane way i would really appreciate it.

All I can say is be carefull brother. Electricity can easily kill, as little as 30 volts, perhaps less. I cannot stress enough the importance of not electricuting yourself...Perhaps you can try a 9 volt battery and some wire, it will give the effect to a point. I would not trust ANY voltage transformer that drops down voltage, I have seen them fail many times, NOR would I trust any rheostat, they can not be reliable either. A 9 volt transistor radio battery on the other hand, I have seen people test them by touching them on their tongues, so It may be safe enough, but I have no idea If it will cause damage or not?..... Be Carefull. Also , be carefull of battery acid. I do know that under the right circumstances, a 9 volt battery is more than a lot of people can handle touching sensitive areas, especially if lubricated in some way?????? I am not giving advice, I don't know enough about it, You'll have to make your own call on that one. I do know that playing with electricity can be harmfull or fatal.

Thank you for the concern. i know it can be done safely but i also know that is not something to be careless with. Perhaps some website links to mature, responsible sites with info about what is safe & works. Does anyone no what voltage some of those professional systems uses?

If you dig back through the teasing and denial posts, some where back there is a message with a lot of advice about electroplay. Also just search the web a little. There is a lot of information out there.
I've done some home electro play and I love it. Words to live by though. If it hurts you, it can burn you. Keep everything below the waist. I'd test something less important than your well ... Ahem ... first. Like a toe. Be careful.
(I'm enjoying a little bottle of Chardonnay by the way ... )
I work around some high voltage stuff. I have been shocked. I mean really shocked. I mean 'knock you down, with screaming, and now my fingers have third degree burns' shocked. Granted no home device is probably going to nail you with 300 volts. Just be careful. Checking in here with "ideas" before carrying them out is always a good idea.

Wasn't there a link to some site about electro play? I remember it mentioned you could use a stereo system as a "controller" for sending the signals... but they wanted you to buy a book to figure out how. Feh...

I know precisely squat about building them yourself, but here are a couple links you might find useful-

Here's my advice - don't do electricity on your own.
Voltage doesn't kill - amperage (current) does. The higher the voltage, all other things being equal, the higher the current. So, higher voltages are more dangerous. Under the right conditions, you only need about 1 volt to kill you. Since a simple C cell has 1.5 volts, you can see that just about anything can kill you under the right circumstances. For a C cell to do it, you'd need to put needles into your skin and stand in water, etc. (the risk is low). However, it is real. (Also, the higher the voltage, the more painful it is.)
There are two ways to die from electricity. One is to get so bad of a shock that it disrupts your neural system and stops your heart. The other way is to slowly get cooked by not being able to get away from it. Neither one sounds like fun to me.
Electricity also causes muscles to contract. So, if you apply electricity to the palm of your hand, it will tend to make you close your hand around it. This is what leads some people to being electrocuted.
There are many ways to use electricity safely, but none that you can do alone. As much as you want to do it, wait until someone is there that can help you if you need it. You never know if your heart may have an undetected defect. Like most things, everyone's tolerance is slightly different.
Hugs,
Kat
